Hi! I hope you’ve enjoyed the Military in Transition website. Below are books that I have read or that I recommend. This is a new page, but please stay tuned as I add recommended books to this list.
Mindful Finance Mindful Finance was written by my good friend and former Philadelphia neighbor, Adam Soloff. Adam has been a financial planner in the Philly area for over 20 years, and this book shares some of the insight that has allowed him to succeed. Also, he’s just a great guy and really down to earth. Watching him succeed was part of the ‘nudge’ that inspired me to become a financial planner. 25% of the proceeds go to the Soloff Foundation, a non-profit whose purpose is to combat autism.
The Military Guide to Financial Independence and Retirement This book was written by Doug Nordman, who retired from the Navy after a 20 year career as a nuclear engineer on submarines. Through his book, as well as by living the example in real life, Doug shows that a career in the military can lead to financial independence and retirement. Moreover, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this book go to veteran charities.
Just a quick note:
The book links you find here will directly link you to the respective Amazon location. Each of the recommended books you buy through one of these links (not just the book, but any other items you choose to buy), Amazon pays a small commission to this blog, but your price stays the same. These commissions do help to defray the cost of maintaining this blog.
